Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ
It is my privilege to take you through the last year with gratitude, as we discover together, how God led us, guided us, comforted us and inspired us as a congregation.
Dear congregation member
It is with gratitude that we as the council of NGLC look back on 2016. It was a year in which the congregation experienced much life through our weekly services and various ministries. Thank you for being a member of this special part of the Body of Christ.
Our financial year also ended on a good note, albeit only due to higher contributions in November and December. Throughout the year, council was always slightly on edge and worried about the financial state of NGLC. We thank all those who contributed to the running of NGLC. Thank you for being financially invested in what God is doing among us!
The Second Reformation
After there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them, "My brothers, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you, that I should be the one through whom the Gentiles would hear the message of the good news and become believers. And God, who knows the human heart, testified to them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as he did to us; and in cleansing their hearts by faith he has made no distinction between them and us.
Now therefore why are you putting God to the test by placing on the neck of the disciples a yoke that neither our ancestors nor we have been able to bear?
On the contrary, we believe that we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they will.” Acts 15, 7-10
I was born on 16 September 1977 in Cape Town as the third of four children. Being born in to a German-speaking South African family, I grew up trilingually (German, English, Afrikaans). As a family, we were very involved in the St. Martini congregation (Cape Church). Because of this, I was able to experience congregational life from a young age. Particularly the Children's Church and the "Jungschar" (Kids Club) played a significant positive role in my childhood.
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men” (Col. 3v23)
to join your children at church every Sunday.
What awaits you:
A friendly, welcoming group of people,
A service that will lift your spirit,
A sermon that will give you fuel for the week,
A chance to fellowship over a cup of tea after the service,
An opportunity to connect with your children from the shared experience of church.
We would love to meet you! Please ask your children to introduce you to us, the Children’s Church helpers, so that we can help you feel right at home.

Thank you for the wonderful Alpha weekend that we could share together. Thank you for being with the incredible people who helped organised everything.
You sent us beautiful weather, delicious food, comfortable accommodation, fabulous company and most importantly, you sent us your Holy Spirit. Thank you for helping us learn about your Holy Spirit and for filling us with your Holy Spirit. Thank you for giving us challenges to face so that we can see what an amazing support group of family and friends we have around us. Thank you for the privilege to have a relationship with you. Thank you for speaking to us through your Word.
Lord, please help us to always be close to you so that it is easy for us to see your will. Help guide us so that we may be aware of the evil that exists and we ask that you protect us against it. Let our faith in you grow every single day and help us to trust you completely. You have a plan set out for our lives, help us to live it.
We ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
Our ten weeks together during the Alpha course was a special time and the following testimonies, from some of the participants, give you a glimpse of what we experienced together.
